Late 1970s Ludwig '402 Supraphonic' 14x6.5"

Serial number #1899787

Ludaloy shell with 10 lugs.

The legendary 402 snare as famously used by John Bonham.

I rarely get these in as they are becoming harder and harder to source, especially in any condition close to this.

Comes with original Ludaloy sticker and original hardware including P85 strainer, internal dampener, butt end, hoops and tension rods.

This drum is an incredibly good example, with only minimal pitting and aging and minor scratches. You’d really struggle to find one as clean.

There is a mark on the top right of the badge which might suggest this has been caught at some point and bent back into position. This was common for this era, and it’s why the Ludwig Blue & Olive badge switched to curved edges shortly after this.

See all photos for condition.

Stripped, cleaned and polished in my workshop October 2023.

Fitted with brand new Remo Emperor and Ambassador snare side heads, with brand new Puresound Custom Pro Steel wires.
