3-ply mahogany/poplar/mahogany shell with maple reinforcing hoops.
Original chrome hardware with 8 streamlined lugs and single flanged hoops and clips.
Original white marine pearl which has minimal fading and is one of the nicest white marine pearl wraps around.
There is a date stamp inside but the year isn't fully legible, however, due to this drum having the blue oval Leedy Chicago badge, this dates it to 1960, thus meaning the date stamp probably reads as: 8/23/1960.
This drum is from an era that often gives these drums the nickname 'Slingerleedy', this is because these drums with their oval badge were built by Slingerland in the early 60s after Slingerland bought Leedy from Conn in the late 50s.
The snare strainer extension lever and screw are missing, but this is quite common for these snares. Sometimes the snare strainer needs a bit of encouragement to snap on but again, this is quite common for these strainers which were on Slingerland and Leedy drums of this era.
Freshly stripped in my workshop and fitted with brand new Remo Vintage Ambassador and Ambassador snare side heads and Puresound Custom Pro Steel wires.
