1960-63 Ludwig Super-Ludwig 400 Chrome over Brass 14x5"

Pre-serial Keystone badge dates it to circa 1960-63. Catalog scan is from 1961.

This is the legendary heavy chrome over brass shell with signature crimpled snare beds and chrome over brass hoops too!

This is a remarkable drum and is a lovely example of such a legendary snare drum. The drum is not free of scratches, scuffs and minor dents on the shell, but overall, it is in great condition and the chrome work really shines.

I have tried to photograph the condition as best as I can. Please see photos for condition.

This drum comes with original hardware including P83 strainer & butt, internal muffler, COB hoops and tension rods.

This is the studio and live snare to have! As used by many for decades. The Rolls Royce of metal snares. It sounds delicious. It’s incredibly controlled and beautifully warm. I haven’t had one of these in for a while and they always fly out!
