1956-59 Slingerland Radio King ‘Gene Krupa Model' 14x5.5" in original Black Diamond Pearl wrap

Chrome hardware including original internal dampener, rim-shot counterhoops and 3-point strainer, all of which work as they should.

1-ply solid maple shell with original Black Diamond Pearl wrap. The shell is in great shape with no seperation between the rerings, but as often the case, heads are a little tight fitting but they do go on.

The drum is in really nice shape. The hardware is pretty spotless with minimal pitting/aging. Their is a bit of chrome loss on the strainer arm though.

The original snare wires would have had metal ends. At the strainer end, the metal plates ends would screw into the strainer. Obviously the original wires are not up to todays standards, so I have used cord and tied it around the base of the strainer due to lack of holes to tie in.

This Chicago badge dates this drum to 1956-59. Around this time, Slingerland got rid of the 'Radio King' titles but this is a Radio King at heart due to its 1-ply solid maple shell.

A proper Rolls Royce drum.

Freshly stripped, cleaned and polished in my workshop June 2020.

Fitted with brand new Remo Vintage Ambassador and Ambassador snare side heads with Puresound Custom Pro steel wires.
