Nickel over brass heavy two-piece shell - the same shell as the original Black Beauties but with nickel coating.

This drum has original single flange hoops, claws, tension rods, butt end and also features the 'Professional Strainer' which was introduced in 1928. The strainer holds and moves nicely as it should and comes with original extendable arm and screw which are often lost.

Unoriginal to the drum is a Rogers internal dampener which has unfortunately been drilled over the original Ludwig engraved logo which is a shame but this drum should be played, and so the dampener is a nice handy feature. I have photographed the drum so you can see the extra three holes and you can decide if you would like to remove it to expose these.

This drum sounds delicious! There is a reason these are so sought after. It has aging of course, its almost 100 years old but has cleaned up well.

The nickel coating has worn thin on some of the hardware and so the brass does show through in places but everything works as it should.
