The kit is really in great shape. I got these in from a previous owner who had them stored in attic. They needed some lengthy TLC and some missing parts sourcing, but you’d struggle to find a 70s kit with nicer chrome work and finish.
Comes with original Lokfast hardware mounts including the ‘double disappearing’ tom holder', spurs and floor tom legs. Internal dampeners and original slotted tension rods are fitted on the toms.
There is some tom rash on the top of the bass drum where the toms have touched the wrap. This is of course often seen on kits of all ages so is to be expected, especially when the toms are so big! There are other signs of scuffs across all drums but of course, to be expected.
As made by Premier, these shells are wonderful and are the same shells as featured on the top of the range Premier kits of the time. The bass drum has 10 lugs so really is top of the game of the time. I suspect the bottom hoops were removed at some point, (it was all the rage in the 70s), as there is some scuffs to some of the edges.
The bass drum hoops were sanded back and resprayed in black gloss. During this process, the original staples that hold the inlays in were removed. The inlays have lost some of their original backing which causes a little bit of appearance in places. The inlay has been reattached but without the original staples. There is markings of where the tension rod claws have indented the wood, mostly where a previous owner had the hoops the wrong way round and a little pedal rash in places but overall, they are in really great shape.
Some of the original lokfast mounts don’t hold quite as well as any modern equivalents, but should hold fine still. They are of course very old now and the knurling has worn away.
As always I have tried to explain all the details of the kit, but please see all photos for condition too. The last photo of the gallery shows the condition of the bass drum as the kit came to me.
