Late 60s/Early 70s Ludwig 'Standard S-100' 14x5" in original Blue Strata

3-ply mahogany/poplar/mahogany shell with maple reinforcing rings and original interior paint.

Serial number: 25472. No date stamp present.

Fitted with original P83 script strainer, internal dampener, butt end, lugs and tension rods. The original top hoop was really badly rusted, so I have swapped it for a hoop from a 60s Acrolite I had.

Chrome hardware in nice condition for age with minimal pitting and scratching.

The shell and the edges are in wonderful condition.

In the late 60s, the Ludwig Standard range was launched to compete with budget level Japanese ranges of the time. This, whilst it was budget at the time, is essentially the same legendary Jazz Festival shell but with different lugs and badge, fitted with a unique wrap that was only available on the Standard range. Grab a bargain whilst you can!

Please see photos for condition. The last two photos show a before and after polish of the shell.

Freshly stripped, cleaned and polished in my workshop November 2023. Fitted with brand new Remo Vintage Ambassador and Ambassador Hazy heads with brand new Puresound Custom Pro Steel wires.
