Transitional Badge

All original nickel over brass hardware.

3-ply shell. Mahogany (inner) / poplar / maple (outer) with maple reinforcing rings.

In the 60’s, this was the ‘Pioneer’. The Pioneer was 5” but this is the earlier 5.5” model which I really love.

Being 6 lug it naturally goes very fat, and I think the extra depth really does help too!

Original duco finish is on the whole in great shape but there is patches where it has flaked off, mostly beside the strainer.

Nickel hardware is in nice shape. The strainer and butt end show their age with quite a bit of plating loss but they work as they should.

The last few pictures show the drum how it came to me, prior to being cleaned.

Freshly stripped, cleaned and polished, fitted with brand new Remo Vintage Ambassador and Ambassador snare side heads and Puresound Custom Pro wires.
