3 ply shell - maple/poplar/maple with maple reinforcing rings, 8 lug design
All original nickel over brass hardware including internal dampener, the first imperial lugs, double flange hoops and a lovely 'Standard Extention' strainer.
Date stamped: ‘4702’ meaning February 1947.
This is a lovely deep and warm drum that would be a wonderful recording snare and really looks as great as it sounds.
The finish is White Avalon Pearl which is slightly more unique than the standard White Marine Pearl finish so that’s a nice touch; a finish that isn’t often seen.
Not only does the 'Ludwig & Ludwig' on the badge show one of the many transitions of Ludwig, the 'Elkhart, Ind.' on the badge is also very fascinating, given that's where Leedy were from.
