1964 Ludwig 402 Supraphonic 14x6.5"

Serial number: #63667, dating it to 1964.

The legendary 402 snare. John Bonham later put the 70's 402's into the limelight which still give them the legacy that they still rightfully deserve today. This drum however is the scarcer 60's example which are really not often seen.

This drum comes with original chrome over brass hoops, white felt dampener with baseball bat adjuster, P83 strainer and butt. The bottom part is a later Ludwig Standard part but works as it should, just the Ludwig isn’t the script font.

There is plenty of pitting and flaking chrome but this is a 60s Ludwig 402, they really are hard to find. This drum needs to be played.

Not all tension rods match.

The top part of the badge is raised up away from the shell but is securely mounted by the grommet.

Please see all photos to determine overall condition.

Freshly stripped, cleaned and polished in my workshop in October 2021.

Fitted with brand new Remo Vintage Ambassador and Ambassador snare side heads, and brand new Puresound Custom Pro Steel wires.
