1-ply solid maple shell with maple rerings. 8 lug design
Original chrome hardware including Zoomatic snare strainer, internal tone control, butt end and "Rim Shot" hoops.
These are some of the loveliest and unique snares around. The Artist Model being 1-ply maple is essentially the same as the Radio Kings but it came at a time when Slingerland changed the catalog and model names. The Zoomatic strainer and the Rim Shot hoops brought new model names to introduce a change but the shell is the same legendary shell!
The last few Artist Model snares I’ve had in, have flown out. The last Capri Pearl Slingerland snare I had in also flew out.
There is a little gaps between the shell and rerings, but this is so often seen and shouldn’t be anything to worry about. Not all the lug mounting screws are original but all do the job.
There is a little bit of scratching on the wrap where the badge has previously spun around. The badge grommet has now been tightened up so the badge won’t spin. Overall the wrap is in great shape. The black has ‘purpled’ but generally, it’s a lovely lovely example of the rare capri pearl wrap.
All tension rods are era correct, but 8 are shorter than the other 8. They all work as they should though.
Heads fit fine and the snare tunes up and down great.
This is a beautiful example of a seldom seen beauty.
