1930s Leedy 'Reliance' 14x5” White Lacquer over Brass (8 lug)

This drum features all original nickel over brass hardware, including x8 tube lugs, x16 brass clips, 4-point strainer and butt end.

These drums are delicious. So crisp and responsive and surprisingly not honky for an old brass shell.

The white lacquer finish isn’t often seen, and its aging really does give it some character.

These are the same shells as the 30s Ludwig Pioneer shells which are my favourite metal shells, (up there with the Acrolites!)

As you can see, the finish hasn't been touched up. I think it would be criminal to do this, and you'd really struggle to match the colour. The drum has been stripped, cleaned and polished and now looks delicious.

Fitted with brand new Remo Vintage Ambassador, Ambassador snare heads and Puresound Custom Pro wires.

This is a video of the wonderful Carter McLean playing what is essentially the same drum minus to badge, strainer and finish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pehFFYHhR-o
