This is a really delightful set. The Ludwig Standard range was introduced in 1968 to compete with budget Japanese kits of the time, but these shells are the same legendary shells as all the other Ludwig ranges of the time but with different hardware which must have been cheaper to make. The strata finishes were only available on the Standard range and are unbelievably classy! Very unique drums and certainly not budget.
The set came to me very grimy, but they have cleaned up wonderfully with very shiny chrome-work. There is some very lightly marked dots that seem be under the surface of the wrap as I can’t get seem to clean them away. They are incredibly hard to see though unless in certain lights.
The new owner will be incredibly happy with these I’m sure!
