Early 1970's Beverley 'Panorama 21' outfit sized 22x14", 12x8", 13x9", 16x16" in original white marine pearl.
3-ply mahogany shells with beech reinforcing rings.
Freshly stripped, cleaned and polished in my workshop in July 2018. The kit has been fitted with brand new Remo heads all round. Toms are fitted with Vintage A batter and Coated Ambassador reso. Bass drum has Coated Ambassador batter and Fiberskyn Ambassador reso finished off with a Joe Cox Drums small decal.
The kit is in great shape and in seldom seen Beverley white marine pearl. These drums were built in the same factory as Premier, but just fitted with different hardware and fitted with triple flange hoops instead of die cast hoops. I prefer the triple flange hoops on these as I feel they let the drum speak.
The chrome work is in great shape, particularly the lugs and hoops. The toms feature the original slotted head tension rods and also are fitted with original internal dampeners. Some of the hardware show aging - this can mostly be seen on some of the thumb screws on the mounts, but all work as they should.
There is two patches of wrap that have been damaged underneath mounts. One being underneath a floor tom leg mount, and the other being under a bass drum spur mount.
At some point the bass drum spur mount had punctured and splintered through the shell, perhaps after taking a fall or being dropped. I have repaired, reseated the shell and glued, and for reinforcement I steam bent a piece of thick and sturdy 3-ply board and glued inside the shell on the bass drum.
These mahogany shells really do sing beautifully and are full of warm tones. If they had a Ludwig badge they would easily be twice or three times as much as listed here.
