This is a wonderful little set that I'm very happy to offer up for sale after picking it up on my recent travels in America. They look and sound incredible.
The Ludwig Standard range was introduced in ’68 to compete with budget Japanese kits of the time, but these shells are the same legendary shells as all the other Ludwig kits of the time but with different hardware which must have been cheaper to make. The strata finishes were only available on the Standard range and are unbelievably classy! Very unique drums and certainly not budget.

The spurs are not matching, but still work as they should.
Original the kick would have been fitted with a Ludwig Standard slimmer mount and post, however this looks to have been replaced with a more substantial mount and post, usually seen on Ludwig kits from the 70s.
Since photographing the kit, I have changed the wing nut on the mount to a Ludwig branded one with a longer thread that holds the post much better.
There is wear on the hoops, mostly on the bottom side. There is pedal rash and some minor damage to the hoop on the batter side, as well as some indenting on the top of the reso side hoop, perhaps where a cowbell post was once mounted. Also on the top of the reso side hoop, the black paint is a bit thinner and maybe more matt finish, not sure why.
