May 1961 Leedy 'The Combo' 22x12" Bass Drum in Blue & Silver Duco
As seen in the 1960 Leedy Catalog, I believe this bass drum was from an outfit titled "The Combo", 'a sensational small combination set-up great for fast moving in taxi, bus, train.
3-ply mahogany, chrome plated hardware, original calf heads stamped Leedy. Batter side calf head has split and one reso side claw has one side of the claw snapped off (you can see this at the bottom of the drum).
Hoops are not inlay'd (as previously advertised in the 1960 catalog) which makes me think they took out this feature to save costs on a 'low priced outfit'.
10 lug, single tension (long rods tension into the claws on the reso side).
There are no spurs/spur mounts. The drum would originally had clip on hoop spurs. DW SM2224 Clamp On Bass Drum Spurs are readily available.
The drum could probably use a clean.
