1962-69 Slingerland ‘Deluxe Concert King Model’ 15x7” in Black Diamond Pearl

Original chrome hardware including chrome over brass ‘Rim Shot’/‘Stick Saver’ hoops, internal tone control, butt end and Zoomatic snare strainer. Tension rods are modern.

Niles, Illinois badge dating this drum to 1962-69. Serial number (although can’t be used to date) is: 108986.

The original black diamond pearl finish is delightful!

The hardware has minor pitting and aging, to be expected.

As often with these 3-ply Slingerlands, the inner ply has dried and peeled away around the mounting of the snare strainer.

At some point the badge grommet was loose, causing the badge to spin round. This has left some surface scratches but can only be seen in certain lights. The badge is now secured.

There is extra holes around the mounting of the butt end. I suspect this was done in the workshop as they are very close to the intended mounting holes and the butt end is original.

A lovely players drum in a very rare size.

Please look at all photos for condition.

Freshly stripped, cleaned and polished in my workshop in September 2024.

Fitted with brand new Remo Vintage Ambassador and Ambassador snare side heads with Puresound wires.
