Late 40's/Early 50's WFL Ludwig 'Supreme Concert' 14x6.5" in original Green and Cream Duco.

3-ply mahogany/poplar/maple shell. Mahogany inner ply.

Nickel over brass hardware and hoops, and original WFL strainer.

Here we have a lovely players and collectors snare in a very seldom seen green and cream duco.

Catalog scan from 1948.

The drum has flakey duco paint, as often is the case, but this, to me, only adds charm and character. You’ll struggle to find another up for sale in this finish.

There is some tension rods that are chrome.

The drum is beautifully warm and open. Being a 6 lugger it can be quite honky and resonant but with suitable dampening (see Snareweight’s!) it can be beautifully honed in. Would be a great second snare or a recording fatty snare.

Freshly stripped, cleaned and polished. Fitted with Remo Emperor and Ambassador hazy and Puresound Custom Pro wires.
