with Leedy Speed-Way snare strainer, named after the famed Indianapolis Speedway race track. It features a long adjustable throw off lever, making it easy to adjust the throw off lever either by hand or stick.
I believe the drum dates to 1926-28, as the Speed-Way strainer was introduced in 26, and by 1929 the Leedy factory was moved from Indianapolis, Indiana to Elkhart, Indiana, and the hoops are engraved Indianapolis.
Apparently Leedy introduced the first non-tubular design lugs in 1923. Prior to this, most drum companies used 'tube' lugs on their snare drums and bass drums.
