Late 1950's Slingerland 'Super Gene Krupa' 14x5.5" in White Marine Pearl
1-ply solid maple shell with re-rings.
Chrome over brass 'stick saver' hoops and Super 'clamshell' strainer. Chicago Black & Brass badge. Internal damper.
In 1957, Slingerland no longer marketed this snare as a 'Radio King'. In turn, the 'Super Gene Krupa' was born. Same 1-ply maple shell, but different name.
There are slight gaps in the reinforcing hoops and shell, but this is very common on these drums. The drum fits heads no problem.
There is a slight chip of wrap missing but this is well hidden by the reso skin and hoop. There is also slight chip on the batter side bearing edge. There is also a slight chip/split in the wrap beside the butt side of the snare mechanism. These chips are photographed.
There is slight patches on the clam shell of missing chrome.
Cleaned & fitted with brand new Remo heads. Puresound wires are fitted but they aren't brand new.
The 'clamshell' strainers aren't the most user-friendly strainers, I'll be honest, but if it had a three point strainer on it, the drum would be in the region of £800+, so I shall let the buyer decide if they want to change it, or deal with it. It is essentially a Radio King, and these are getting hard to find in this price bracket.
