Dec 1941 Ludwig & Ludwig 'Standard' 14x6.5" in Blue & Silver Duco

3-ply maple shell with nickel over brass hardware.

The drum is stamped three times: 415, 411212 and 4112, dating it to May 41, 12/12/1941 and 12/41, so I have gone with listing it as a Dec 1941 drum.

Original nickel over brass hardware including throw, butt, end plates, internal dampener, double-flange hoops and tension rods.

As written in the catalog back in 1941: "The newest standard feature of this drum is the Extension Snare Strainer with 'Controlled Response'. Here is a strainer which allows complete throw-off, complete throw-on, or the modern semi-loose snare adjustment which many professionals desire. Try it!"

This drum is beautifully warm and crisp.

The duco finish has three shades of colour to it which makes it extra special.
