Dec 17/19 1958 Slingerland 'Student Model Radio King' 14x5.5" in Blue and Silver Duco

A lovely warm drum with 3-ply shell - mahogany (inner), poplar, maple (outer).

Original duco finish.

Original chrome hardware, including snare strainer, single flange hoops, butt end tension rods and claws.

Lacquer finish shows aging and scuffs but overall, the chrome hardware is in nice condition for the drums age.

As often the case with these old Slingerlands, there is some gaps around the shell joints and re-rings, and the inner ply of poplar has cracked over time. I’ve seen this so many times on these old drums and never had any issues with performance. Some of the outer ply had dried out and split - these have been reglued down.

Fitted with brand new Remo Vintage Ambassador and Ambassador snare side heads, with brand new Puresound Custom Pro Steel 20 strand wires.
