3-ply shell (mahogany inner, poplar middle, maple outer), original nickel over brass hardware and original interior white coating.
Keystone badge with no serial number dates it to 'pre-serial' which is 1960-63. There looks to have been a date stamp but this has smudged/faded away now.
This snare is all original (apart from heads/wires) and is in great condition. The nickel hardware has cleaned up great. You can see how cloudy the nickel hardware was in the last picture.
The duco finish is a rare one. You don't often see the navy blue and gold ones. I actually had one a few months which sold very quickly, but other than that one, I've seen no others.
These jazz-combos tune up and down great. Being a 6 lugger there is a lot of crunch and bite, as well as being snappy when tuned up. Surprisingly very versatile.
For some reason the drum came to me with the badge turned on its side. I moved it back and found there was a chip out of the outer ply which was hidden by the badge being on its side. Due to the ugliness of the damaged ply, I suspect from the factory, I decided to leave the badge on its side to hide this. You can see the chip in the second to last image.
Freshly stripped, cleaned, checked and polished. Fitted with brand new Remo Vintage A and Ambassador hazy heads with brand new Puresound Custom Pro steel wires.
