As made famous by John Bonham of course, these Stainless Steel kits don’t crop up too often. This one has been lovingly owned by Joe Clegg, who I am selling this on behalf of, and is ready for a new life.
From the catalog: “The stinging dry sound of stainless shatters the air for the first time. These new drum outfits command attention. They look like nothing before. Rich, lusterous polished steel, the royalty of metal. They sound sensational… A shining example of Ludwig’s innovative thinking and traditional craftsmanship… They’re going to steal the spotlight.”
Original black wooden hoops with silver sparkle inlay.
Original large style retractable gull wing spurs, floor tom legs and tom mount.
As it should be, this kit has been played. There are scuffs, scratches and minor dents but nothing major or unexpected from standard use.
Two mounting screws for the bass drum tom mount aren’t original. There is some sort of stain or aging around the floor tom badge.
Please see photos for condition.
The toms are missing their original internal dampeners, but these are easily sourced and Joe Clegg has said if he finds them, he will ship them to the buyer.
This kit comes sold as seen, in unrestored condition.
Fitted with used Coated Emperors batters and Clear Ambassador resos on the toms, and an old C.S. Dot Clear batter and original reso on the bass drum.
